I’m sick!
On christmas day, I thought I was getting sick. I had a really bad headache and my throat hurt, and I have a cold. On Wed. the day after Christmas was really bad. I took the day off work and basically stayed on the couch all day. I wanted to stay in bed, but then I couldn’t keep an eye on Glenn if I was in my bedroom.
On Thursday I though I was feeling a little better, but still not the greatest, so I went to work anyways. I wound up leaving early because I had such a bad headache and was feeling a little bit light headed and dizzy. Then today, I knew there was no way I could take the day off since as it was the girl I was suppose to work with fell and hurt her hip somehow and they were having problems trying to find someone to fill her spot. Plus I had to train in a new kid and that is my job… My stomach was hurting so bad and I was throwing up by the end of my shift. Luckily Forest came in a little early so I could go home. (Forest is working 3rd shift tonight and won’t be home until around 5 am.) He is so sweet! I sure hope that I’m feeling better by Monday, because starting Monday I have a 7 day work week. Loads of fun!!! NOT.
Sorry if it sounds like I’m complaining, I’m really not trying to. It just really sucks being sick.
My new sister
In an earlier post, I told you that my parents were adopting a little girl. Well I finally have some pictures. I went over there last weekend on Saturday to help my parents clean (they had a house fire 2 weeks ago. But luckiny it only damaged the porch/dining room (same room). So we were cleaning the smoke off the cabinets while the guys were resheet rocking.
Anyways here are some pictures of my new sister.

Jessica and Freddie (my nephew)

My Christmas…
As most of you know… we don’t celebrate christmas for religious reasons (we are Jehovah Witnesses). Glenn and I still go to Christmas dinner at my grandparents houses. Forest’s side doesn’t celebrate it either.
I had to finish cooking my tator tot hot-dish for the dinner… That’s the dish that I bring to all the Jones get togethers. Meanwhile Glenn is being awful quiet. I go and see what he is doing and he is coloring on my walls with crayons. (Not that big of a deal! Adds character to the house). I take the crayon away and give him a couple of gifts to open. He got some tools. A drill, skill-saw, and grinder. Along with the hammers and other tools that came in the sets with it.
Now I go back to cooking. Toss everything together and put it in the oven. Get a bath ready for Glenn, Not sure what he got into, but he is very filthy already! Meanwhile he’s throwing a tantrum because he wants to play with his new toys. Get him clean, take him out of the bath and send him into the living room while I get him some clean cloths. Get the cloths on him, now where are his shoes! I just had them before I put him in the bath, phone rings… answer that. It’s my MIL. talk to her for a couple of min. Back to finding his shoes. Glenn runs by me. His cloths are off again! Find where he put his cloths, get them back on him. Now I ask Glenn where his shoes are. He tells me that he hid them so we would have to stay home. I tell him that if he doesn’t get his shoes, so we can go he won’t be getting anymore presents. So he decides he wants to go and gets his shoes from under his bed and behind the couch. Now he’s ready to go. Grab my camera because Grandma Thacker asked me to bring it. She wants family pictures taken. Can’t find my phone. I ask Glenn where my phone is. He says in the house. We go back in the house and he points in the cabinet. Why in the world would it be in there??? Open the cabinet and sure enough that’s where my phone sits! I must have set it there after I put the pen back when I hung up from talking to my mil. We are now a half our late!
Get to my Grandma Jones’ house. I see my nephew Freddie and realize that I forgot his present at home. Great! Oh well, I’ll give it to him next time I see him. Glenn opens more presents. After a couple of hours he was playing in the basement with the other kids. Then we here a little kid fall down the steps and is screaming. It was my 2 year old cousin (Glenn’s 2nd cousin, I’m the oldest grandkid out of 23 grandkids on that side.) Luckily she didn’t fall very far and didn’t land on the cement. After her mom brings her up and is holding her, Glenn comes over to me and says “Mommy! I pushed that little girl down!!!” He looked and sounded to proud of himself. I remove him from the crowd and put him in time out then have a long talk with him. Dad forgot his cell phone and asks me to bring it to the other grandma’s when I go and asks me to pick up the Ford kids so he won’t have to drive back to get them later. Stop and pick them up on my way through and realise that there are 4 kids that are coming with me. I only can legally seat 3 more people in my explorer. I wound up putting the smaller girls in the middle seat-belt in back. I don’t like doing that, but don’t have much choice.
On the 30 mile drive to my other grandma’s house I’m trying to keep Glenn from spitting on the girls in the back. The roads are a little slick and it’s snowing pretty good, so my top speed is 40.
After we get to my Grandma Thacker’s, Glenn gets more presents and we eat more food. Then the kids are playing and Glenn decides to beat up Freddie. Pull him off Freddie and tell him that it’s not nice and if he does it again he will have to go out in time-out. Glenn talks Freddie into going into the bedroom with him and proceeds to start beating him up again. Pull Glenn off again and put him in time-out. The whole time he is in time-out he is crying and screaming that he wants to be good, and won’t do it again! So of course I’m getting nasty looks from everyone and one of them tells me to give him a break, it’s christmas. After his timeout was done he was pretty good. He wanted to play brad dolls with the girls, but they wouldn’t let him.
Now it’s time to take pictures and I get my camera ready and turn it on. Then is says it needs a memory card. I open the spot and see the card is gone. I look in the camera bag and can’t find it. Then I realise that it’s in my printer, because I was taking pictures off it the night before ( I have to get a new cable for my camera since Forest’s dog chewed my other one.) I’m so mad at myself!!! I could just scream!!!
On the way home, Glenn fell asleep and slept all night long. Yay! More time with just Forest, we really don’t get enough one on one time. Glenn normally is an angel and everyone always comments on how well behaved he is.
Today my cold is getting the better of me and I have been fighting a bad headache all day. (I took the day off work)
my mommy is my best friend
Tonight as I was sitting at my computer, checking my email and playing with some pictures, I was listening to Glenn talk to Forest. Forest was helping him count and teaching him how to write letters. By the way he mad a perfect I i both ways. I had a hard time telling which one was his and which one was Forest’s. Then Glenn came over by me to get his cup filled with milk. After I filled it, he went back in by Forest and sat next to him on the couch. Then he says “Daddy, my mommy is my best friend.” My heart melted. I love that little boy so much!

Kaleb’s birthday
Today would have been Kaleb’s 2nd birthday. We lost him to a tragic accident when he was 7 months old, when my sister propped up a bottle and left him in our parents room while we were at work and he suffocated.

Two years ago today he was born. This is his birth story:
There was 2 weeks til my due date. The day started out like any other… I was totally ready to get the kid out! I was joking around with my bosses wife (also my co-worker and milking partner) I was only working half days. We were on a cold streak and she told me that I should wait until next week to have the baby, because it would be warmer then. The dr.s were talking about inducing a week early since I had some problems with Glenn and he was 10 pounds… and it looked like this baby was going to be big also. I went out to use the skid-steer and clean one of the pens. After I was done I went to let the group of cows back in, there was 1 cow in the group that I always kept an eye out for, because she like to come after me. As I opened the gate and turned, she was right there… I was freaking out, if she slammed me into the wall it wouldn’t be good. So as she was coming after me, I tried to think fast and grabbed the gate and slid under it. I’m very flexible and pregnancy didn’t change that. The gate is about 3 feet of the ground, maybe a little shorter. I was thankful that she didn’t get me, it was a close one. I took a couple of steps and it felt like my water broke. I was leaking something and my pants (black sweatpants) were soaked to my knees. I went in and told Lori (my milking partner and bosses wife, and very good friend of mine) that I think I had to go home, I’m pretty sure my water just broke… But I wasn’t having ANY contractions. After I went into the bathroom to go pee, I noticed that it was actually blood! My water hadn’t broke, but I was bleeding bad. After I came out one of my bosses confronted me and asked if I needed him to drive me home. I told him no I could drive myself and that my water hadn’t broke, but I was bleeding bad. Now that I think about it, I should have taken him up on the offer in case I would have passed out or something, but nobody ever said I was smart! lol. After I called Forest and couldn’t get him to answer the phone, I was secretly freaking out. Although I think both my bosses and Lori were freaking out more that me. After I got home, Forest had just gotten home from going to the gas station. I changed cloths, and packed some cloths for Glenn just in case they decided to keep me although I was half expecting that they would just send me home since the bleeding wasn’t nearly so bad, I could still feel the baby moving, so I knew he wasn’t dead. Then we went to my parents, since they were on the way to the hospital. Almost an hour drive total. Then we get into the hospital, and the receptionist has to call and find out weather to send me to OB or to ER. Off to OB we go. My dr.’s on call, yay! Put a monitor on me to monitor the baby, call ultrasound to come bring a machine in the room so we can get an u/s of the baby. The dr. called over to a bigger hospital (they are a branch off them) to find out what they wanted them to do. They ordered a series of tests and out of a total score of 10 the baby got a 2. He wasn’t doing good. I was informed they were taking me in for a c/section as soon as the surgeon on call got there. Meanwhile my Dr. and the Pediatrician are reading up on infant revival (to brush up on it) This is starting to freak me out! As they are bringing me into surgery and am getting a spinal, the surgeon looks at me and says “I remember you! I repaired your bottom.” Asked me if I preferred a bikini cut or up and down cut. I just want my baby to be ok! But if I have to choose then Bikini! As they are taking him out the anesthesiologist says it’s a girl! (I’m thinking What! At least I brought an outfit for both just in case) Wait… Wait… It’s a boy. Kaleb León Lukes. All I can think about is he looks big! lol. 9 pounds 7 oz. 20 inches long. My dr. said that he was the loudest screaming baby that he has ever heard of all the s/cections that he has assisted on.
